Jillian Michaels wades into gender controversy with Algerian boxer Imane Khelif, who won gold at the Paris Olympics.
The Biggest Loser alum suggested athletes should take “cheek swab tests” after Khelif endured a hostile campaign in which she faced gender-related questions.
The 25-year-old, who is not transgender, is said to have the “XY chromosomes” of a man, which led to her disqualification from the 2023 World Championships after she failed unspecified gender fitness tests administered by the now-banned International Boxing Association.
Michaels discussed the gender controversy surrounding Khelif and Taiwan’s Lin Yu-ting on OutKick’s “Tomi Lahren is Fearless” podcast this week.
– Let’s remove transgender from this, because these two athletes are not transgender, they say they are women. You have two independent tests in two labs that are separate from the International Boxing Association that discovered the Y chromosome. It’s a man, the 50-year-old said.

‘So why didn’t they now challenge these findings? Twice! A simple cheek stick solves the problem, answers the question.
The TV personality continued: “Now the Olympics are like ‘the passport says women and they’ve been able to compete before.'” So what about this? What if you do a cheek stick? Really simple, and then you negate the whole conversation.
Earlier this week, Khelif filed a lawsuit against X over alleged “acts of cyberbullying” in which he named Elon Musk and JK Rowling after they experienced his participation in the 2024 Games.
Nabil Boudi, the gold medalist’s Paris-based lawyer, told Variety that the Tesla mogul and the Harry Potter author were both named in a criminal complaint sent to the Attorney General’s Office’s anti-hate online center last week.
Boudi said Khelif filed the lawsuit as part of his “fight for justice, dignity and honor.”
“JK Rowling and Elon Musk have been named in the lawsuit, among others,” Boudi wrote to X, noting that Donald Trump would also be part of the investigations.

Possible consequences for cyberbullying in France include prison sentences ranging from two to five years and fines of between £26,000 and £39,000. If prosecuted for online hate speech, perpetrators can be fined between £64,000 and £214,000.
The backlash against the boxer began when Italy’s Angela Carini stopped the fight in just 46 seconds he was hit twice, had a suspected broken nose and was barely hit.
The Italian then dropped to his knees, hit the canvas in frustration and refused to shake Khelif’s hand as he conceded victory.
meanwhile Olympic bosses doubled down on their decision to allow Khelif and Yu-ting to compete after being disqualified from the 2023 World Championships.
Shortly after the event, the IOC stripped the IBA of its status due to governance issues and alleged corruption.
“Every person has the right to practice sport without discrimination,” the IOC said in a statement, which also attacked “misleading information about the two female athletes.”
“The IOC is saddened by the abuse that the two athletes are currently receiving.”
The 25-year-old man was able to compete in the women’s division at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
