Olympic champion Imane Khelif has undergone a new makeover to show off her hard-earned gold medal in Paris.
Khelif’s participation in the women’s Olympic boxing event sparked debate throughout the Games, especially after Italy’s Angela Carini lost her match after just 46 seconds.
Khelif, along with fellow Taiwanese fighter Lin Yu-ting, was disqualified from the 2023 World Cup by the IBA after reportedly failing a gender eligibility test.
However, the Algerian boxer shut down the noise to win gold for his country in Paris, showing off his new precious metal after a stunning makeover.
In a video posted to Instagram, Khelif can be seen lunging at the camera before the screen shows a shot of her wearing a seasonal pink floral outfit with matching earrings and pink eyeliner and lip gloss.

Although his participation in the competition – which was defended by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) – was debated throughout the Games, it came after he had been disqualified from the previous competition, sparking controversy.
Although the IBA ruled him and Lin out of the World Cup tournament, the IOC disagreed.
– This is a question of justice: women must be allowed to participate in women’s competitions. And these two are women,” President Thomas Bach said.
Khelif even defended her own participation, saying: “I am fully qualified to participate in this competition. I am a woman like all other women.
‘I was born a woman. I have lived as a woman. I competed as a woman – there’s no doubt about that.
However, he has been criticized by several figures, including X and Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Harry Potter author JK Rowling, both of whom the 25-year-old has named in the lawsuit.
Former US President Donald Trump also called the fighter a “man”, and Khelif admitted he was affected by the “noise”.

“Who wants men to participate in women’s sports? I want to congratulate a young woman who has evolved from a man to a woman. She… She won gold,” Trump said.
Khelif is not transgender and was born female, but has been claimed to have male XY chromosomes since taking an IBA test last year, which has since largely refused to answer questions about how the process works.
“Immediately after politicians, athletes, stars, artists – Elon Musk and Donald Trump – and it hurt me a lot, I can’t describe how scared I was,” 25-year-old Khelif said.
‘This affected me. I won’t lie to you, it affected me a lot. It hurt a lot. I can’t describe the fear I had, but thank God I was able to overcome it. Thank God, all the people of Algeria and the Arab world knew Imane Khelif for her femininity, courage and will.
While the two boxers’ Olympic eligibility was debated, the IBA held a press conference that apparently failed to alleviate the confusion surrounding their participation.
IBA president Umar Kremlev, who branded Olympic boss Bach a “sodomite,” gave few clear answers during the hastily arranged, farcical two hours.
“The tests show they were men,” he said. – We don’t check what they have between their legs. We don’t know if they were born that way or if some changes were made.
A briefing document laid on the table indicated that the results revealed that “XY chromosomes were detected in the samples from both athletes.”
The IBA claims that both boxers were tested at their event in Istanbul in 2022, revealing negative findings that were repeated at the 2023 event in New Delhi.
They also said two other boxers were tested in Turkey and cleared – but did not specify which tests were carried out.
“Second tests confirmed the first tests,” Kremlev said. ‘If people have doubts, turn to them. They can do their own tests.

Ioannis Filippatos, former chairman of the IBA’s medical committee, said blood tests had revealed “abnormalities” in 2022.
“The medical result, the blood result shows – and the laboratory says – that these boxers are men,” Filippatos said.
“The problem is we have two blood tests with a male karyotype. This is the answer from the lab.
According to National Human Genome Research, a karyotype is an individual’s complete set of chromosomes.
The IBA’s UK chief Chris Roberts asked why the IOC had not acted on the information they provided last year.
“They haven’t done anything about it because they rely on their own criteria – which is basically a passport.”
Mail Sport asked Roberts if there had been an independent witness at the trials.
He said he wasn’t, but the labs that processed the results were independent.
With the victory, the 25-year-old became the first Algerian to win Olympic gold in boxing since Hocine Soltani won the men’s lightweight division in 1996.
Khelif’s win sparked wild celebrations among his countrymen on social media, with Riyad Mahrez tweeting the country’s flag emojis and a salute similar to the one he gave when he raised his hand.
Mahrez had previously expressed his support for Khelif in a video posted of his run to the final in France.
‘Hi Imane Khelif, I’m Riyad Mahrez and I know you’re a great boxer.
“Congratulations and I hope you will be the first Algerian to win the World Cup!”
Meanwhile, AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer praised Khelifi’s mental strength throughout the tournament.

“Congratulations to our Olympic champion Imane Khelif.” He wrote to his X account.
“Despite anger, misinformation and ruthlessness, he remained mentally strong to win the gold medal and honor Algeria.”
The IOC had been heavily critical of the IBA, the governing body, which had previously banned both fighters from competition.
Carini, who stopped his match with Khelif after just 46 seconds, later apologized for his actions after refusing to shake the Algerian’s hand.
